OK, history...
I washed a styrofoam mattress pad in the washer on gentle cycle, it shredded the foam somewhat, and although it didn't immediately have a problem, yesterday the washer overfilled and flooded laundry room. We drained the tub, cleaned the mess. Today, I researched it and took the top off. I found the clear pressure tube that tells the washer when to stop filling, I disconnected it and blew into it to see if it was clogged. If it was, it was minor as it was easy to blow into the tube. I reconnected the tube and put the cover back on. The washer filled, and ran, and drained on gentle cycle with no clothes. I was going to try a small test run, but when I went to start cycle, it wouldn't fill. The washer immediately began to agitate, like it was already filled.
I took top of washer off again, and tested the valve. I blew into it and heard a click, but no second click when I released the pressure.
Do I need to replace something? Clean something? Test something?
Please help.
